Is it me? Is it you? Is it us?

Def. wholistic: “To nurture or treat the entire person - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.” About.com

Why “wholistic” and not “holistic”? Because I like it better this way!

Wholistic, a word I’ve been hearing a lot lately and a word I’ll be hearing a lot in the future. I’ve been hearing it from doctors, healers, gurus, etc. Suddenly, I find myself in a situation where everybody assumes I need to be treated “wholistically”.

I like “new age” philosophies. I think they help us cope with our everyday stress and our terrible habit of giving way too much importance to things that aren’t really so life defining, so I keep listening.

Apparently, it all starts with… you or me, with us! We are the ones “doing” everything that happens to us. We are the ones who provoke the illnesses to ourselves and we are the ones who can heal them. Like really heal, not just attack the symptoms. We are the ones who attract certain people and events to our lives.
The thing is that if it all starts with me, then I should probably start thinking of myself “wholistically”. I will have to train my mind to think of myself and of people around me in a more complex way.

I read a wonderful poem recently and I wish to post it here. I will think of it as a blessing for the start of this journey.

One and Only You by James T. Moore

Every single blade of grass
and every flake of snow
is just a wee bit different
there’s no two alike you know.

From something small like grains of sand
to each gigantic star
all were made with this in mind
to be just what they are.

How foolish then to imitate,
how useless to pretend,
since each of us comes from a mind
who’s ideas never end.

There’ll only be just one of me
to show what I can do
and you should likewise feel very proud
there’s only one of you.
That is where it all starts, with you….. a wonderful unlimited human being

Let’s meet here and share our fears, discoveries, enlightening experiences!

I leave you, for today, with the sweet lingering taste of “One and Only You” on your lips.
